Gaelcholáiste Reachrann, Donaghmede was established in 2001 with 34 students after long relentless efforts from parents in the area to provide their children with second level education ‘lánGhaeilge’.

Cloisfear togha an cheoil agus scoth na bhfonnadóirí ar an ardán i Sráid Vicar an 13ú Bealtaine. Ag ‘Rock Linn Arís’ cloisfidh sibh leithéidí ‘Brian Kennedy, Des Bishop, Noel Hill & Alec Finn, Mick O’Brien, Niamh De Búrca & Mark Kelly, Breandán Begley,Muintir Uí Ghlacáin, Maighréad & Tríona Uí Dhomhnaill, The West Ocean String Quartet. Ag tabhairt aire díbh mar fhir agus bean an tí agus ag cur fonn gáire oraibh beidh Pauline Mc Lynn, Seán Mc Ginley, John Kelly & Stephen Rea. Tá a thuilleadh eolais ar fáil mar gheall ar Rock Linn Arís anseo. Vicar Street will play host to a showcase of Irish music and comedy on Tuesday 13th May. ‘Rock Linn Arís’ boasts a veritable live-up with prominent artists such as Brian Kennedy, Des Bishop, Noel Hill & Alec Finn, Mick O’Brien, Niamh De Búrca & Mark Kelly, Breandán Begley, The Glackin Brothers, Maighréad & Tríona Uí Dhomhnaill, The West Ocean String Quartet. Hosts for the evening include Pauline Mc Lynn, Seán Mc Ginley, John Kelly & Stephen Rea. D’fhorbair an coláiste structúirí an éifeachtacha thar na blianta chun gach deis a thabhairt dár ndaltaí taitneamh agus táirbhe a bhaint as a mblianta scoile agus as a dtodchaí. Feidhmíonn an scoil ar bhonn proifisiúnta trí rannpháirteachas an Bord Bainistíochta, ár dtuistí, ár ndaltaí agus foireann dochreidte. Bhí bliain iontach againn i 2007 ár gcéad sraith torthaí Ardteistiméireachta, chruthaigh na torthaí sin go bhfuil an cur chuige chuí againn chun ardchaighdeán oideachais a bhaint amach dár ndáltaí. Bhí céiliúradh mór againn agus beidh ar bhonn bliaintiúil as seo amach. Tá mé ag tnúth go mór leis na blianta atá romhainn ag obair leis an bpobal scoile speisialta atá againn. The role of Principal of Gaelcholáiste Reachrann is a very inspiring one. Our second level all-Irish school was founded in 2001 in order to provide the highest standard of education through the medium of Irish for students in the area. Students from a wide catchment area attend the school and they are truly loyal to our mission. We are a strong school community working diligently together in a spirit of respect and enjoyment. Our aim from the beginning was to have the college recognised as a place of learning with the highest standards, a school that encourages all the abilities of our students in a supportive atmosphere. ‘Ní neart go cur le chéile’ is our unofficial motto around the school. Our teachers emphasise mutual respect to create an atmosphere that encourages our students, through self motivation, to achieve to the very best of their abilities. In Gaelcholáiste Reachrann we instill pride in our Irish identity through sport, music and every aspect of our traditional culture. Throughout this leaflet you will see the wide variety of activities that encourage the holistic development of the person. Every effort is made to provide opportunities for students to present their talents and skills. Some opportunities our students have benefited from are: taking part in school concerts or being in our choir on ‘Oíche an tSolais’, taking the stage in Vicar Street at ROCKLINN or making a radio programme in Transition Year, creating a new badge ‘Béal na nGael’ for young people or winning prizes in the national talent contest ‘Scléip’ the list goes on.. We have in the college developed effective structures over the years to create every opportunity for our students to enjoy and benefit from their school years. The college is managed on a professional basis that includes the active participation of the Board of Management, parents, students and an exceptional teaching staff. 2007 was a great year; our first set of Leaving Certificate results affirmed our approach to attaining the highest standard of education for our students. This celebration will be repeated on a yearly basis. I look forward to the years ahead working with a very special school community.
